Terms of Service

1. The software
NTFS Kit is a free macOS application distributed under the MIT License. The license text in the project repository governs use, copying, modification and redistribution.
2. Disk operations are yours to authorize
NTFS Kit can mount, unmount, verify, repair and format disks. These operations can destroy data when used on the wrong volume or without a backup. You are responsible for:
- Backing up important data before repair, format or first-time read-write use.
- Choosing the correct volume and confirming its current name.
- Keeping the disk connected during an operation.
- Complying with the licenses and safety instructions of macFUSE, NTFS-3G and Homebrew.
3. No warranty
The software is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The authors are not liable for data loss, disk damage, downtime or any consequential damage arising from use of the software, to the extent permitted by law.
4. Driver components
macFUSE and NTFS-3G are not part of NTFS Kit. Their installation, system-extension approval, updates and support are separate. NTFS Kit reports what it detects but does not guarantee that a third-party driver works on every macOS release.
5. No service commitment
There is no account, subscription or support contract. Documentation and build notes describe the current state; features marked as blocked or unverified are not promises.
6. Changes
These terms may be updated when the distribution model changes. The current version is always published at this URL with its update date.
7. Contact
Use the project issue tracker or the footer contact link for questions about these terms.
